Anyone know of this product and how good it is? I am considering building a traditional mud bed and curb...never have done this! Looked at Wedi, schulter(didnt spell that right!)aka kerdi...both look promising...trying to find out where to buy either is nearly impossible on the internet!
Cost is another thing I cant find! Yes building mud bed and curb is cheaper, but if I have never done it before will it fail? I am a very handy DIYer, but am into something Ive never done.
Chulett - Just did a shower pan first timer, really not bad, just a whole lot of work, there are many sites out there to do it the right way, heres a great system for getting the preslope and pan slope correct.
Really I did a ton of research before I started and really it was no big deal especially with those plastic guides, it worked out I would say without error.
I converted a 36 x 60 bath tub area to a custom shower enclosure, tumbled marble floor, proceline walls complete with borders and chair rail.
What you save on the base, you can spend on borders and chair rail to really finish the shower off nicely.
looks awesome! I like idea of the guides to get the slope..did you use the pre-pitch guides also?
If you dont mind, give me all the technical stuff you did! What material you used etc! I too have done ALOT of research on the internet and have information overload!

Well the link I sent you has a kit, pre-slope, base slope and curb form, this kit I would definately recommend for like $70 and it makes it like almost fool proof.
Leveled the sub floor(very important), it was 3/4" out of level under the old tub, tar paper, pre-slope guide, set drain fitting, fortified porland cement mixed to the consistancy known as stiff.
Let set 24 hours, Oately liner, base pitch kit, curb kit, part 2 of drain fitting siliconed and pinched in fitting, fortified portland cement mixed to consistancy known as stiff.
AWESOME! Sounds like a plan to me! I have been scared bout it up until now!
Will look into the website for the guides..looks easy enough
You have saved me alot of money! what drain did you use? Was it oatey also?
Im not afraid of cement! I put up stone facade of full thickness limestone this summer, so i know about cement! what did you do for the walls? drywall or cement board?

I used the best thinset they sold at HD Flexbond was like $25/50# bag, this was recommended by a tile person I talked to, it made the ceiling tile easy accomplished.
Grout was also mixed per use, stay away from the premixes when doing a shower.
Seal the durock, layout your grid, dry fit tiles, you will certainly need a wet saw, choice is yours to make on that one, I went with a Ryobi 7" worked well for me.
Not much else I can tell you right now, any other questions there are a couple of real good tile guys in here, Jaz is a real helpful guy.
Thanks so much for the info! Im new to this site so not sure how to use it! not sure how to contact people here. Could you guide me a little? BTW sounds like storm gonna hit u up in Michigan also! Im in northern missouri and they are saying 10 to 13 inches here! Where is spring!
how do you attach photos? I'll post photo of my house
When you post a response there is a little paper clip up on the top, if it is not there, there is a radio button to go to advance, just click on the paper clip and attach your photo, there is a max size, so you will have to resize any photo to post here.
Weather is what it is, I have a F150 with 4 wheel drive, built just for days like those that are coming.
