Weak water pressure

I just moved into a new apartment on the 2nd floor of a 5 floor manhattan building, and had it renovated. Now the water pressure is weaker in the kitchen and awful in the shower. Is there any way to boost pressure for the whole apartment?

Thanks!

Weak water pressure

Welcome to the Chatroom. Since you are in the city, I doubt you are on well water. Your water pressure should be the same at all fixtures. You said you had the Apt. renovated. Did this include plumbing renovation? A valve (or two) may have not been opened all the way or if the water was off for any length of time, scale that was inside the pipes may have broken loose and is now clogging the pipes or aerators. Remove the showerhead and turn the water on. If the pressure is better, clean the head. Remove the aerator on the end of the sink spout and also turn the water on to see if that makes a difference. These are common things that can make water pressure seem lower. Let us know how this works out.
