Watersense bathtub & shower faucet

Hi all,

I am installing a brand new shower, and just found out about watersense fixtures. What part of these are watersense? Is it the shower head only, or is it also in the shower valve? I would like to complete the rough in while I order the watersense kits, and want to know if I need a special valve.

Lowes and Home Depot do not carry the watersense kits (they carry shower head water sense only), but the main brands (Moen, American Standard, etc.) produce these and can be bought online.

Any thoughts?

I have only one thought about shower mixers-----Buy the best.

You want a shower mixer that you can get repair parts for--and will be able to find parts for in 15 years.

The cost of replacing a shower mixer --after the shower is built can be in the thousands of dollars.

Often the tile work would need to be removed.

Buy a mixer from a company that will be around in 15 or twenty years.---Mike---

Hey, I like your advice. I am buying a Delta Universal valve, so that we can (hopefully) change the system as we see fit later on.
