Water softener

The water softener seems to be effecting the water flow rate. With the system bypassed there is a little change in water flow in the sink in the bathroom when the toilet is flushed. With the system connected the water flow drops about 75% when the toilet is flushed. Any ideas?

Water softener

Is this a new problem?
Is there *also* a filter on the system?
How long since it was serviced?

Water softener

I would be looking at the pressure tank and the well pump.
If there is no change between the softener in service or out of service on the flow rate to parts of the house, then the softener is not the problem, it is either or both the pressure tank , well pump.
