water pump turns off

I have a well pump that is a Red Jacket brand. The pump turns on for about 10-20 seconds, the sprinklers come up and start to sprinkle, and then it turns off. The breaker that runs the pump is tripped. Any guesses as to what would do this and how to fix it?

What kind of pump is it? Do you have a pumptech electronic control box or similar OR a low water cutoff at the pressure tank?

Are you talking about a breaker in the circuit panel, or the electronic control for the pump?

Sounds like you MAY have a leak, but without more info, it's hard to say. . . .

If it is a capacitor start motor the capacitor could be bad, or if it has a centrifugal switch it could be bad.
