water pressure....NOT

Here's one for you Plumbers. I recently moved to PA. (beutiful place) I live on a working farm where the sons (60 Yrs.+) inherited the land and the house I live in. Well apperantly when the built the first farm house (which is where I live) they ran a 1" plastic pipe about 1/4 mile done the hill to feed the house with a minimal pump at the bottom. So as you can figure... my water preasure is poop. I've come across a "pump booster" which would connect to the main (1") supply line in the basement and hopefuly raise the preassure to an acceptable volume. ... Any thoughts?

Booster pumps work very well.

I may go home hungry, but not tired and hungry.
