water pressure

My washing machine has no water pressure, I try and turn the cold water line up and it shuts down and only hot water comes out. It takes all day to do 1 load of laundry. Help!:furious:

A little more information would be helpful. What type of hoses do you have connected to your washing machine? Could be that they are restricting your flow. Try disconnecting the hose from the washing machine and put the end in a bucket (or slop sink if available) and turn the water on - do you have normal pressure now? Is it possible there is some crud blocking the inlet of the washing machine - oftentimes there are little screen filters that can be cleaned.

I think there is also a screen on the fill valve

Check the supply line
It may be a Watts flood preventer
These have been known to shut down the cold water with some washers

thats exactly what it was, a flood preventer hose, thanks so much!
