Water Pipes are making a moaning noise.

We had cold water valve replaced behind the water heater. Now when we turn on the water or flush the toliet anywhere in the house it makes a moaning noise. What is wrong?

See if the valve is open all the way.

May also have air trapped in the lines.
Open all the faucets one at a time starting with the ones closest to the heater, make sure to open the outside faucets, flush the toilets and run the shower.
Only need to run each one for about 1 min.
Worth a try and it's free.

A hammer arrestor might solve the problem.

Is the moaning noise coming from the valve? If so then I would suspect that it's not fully open or something has gotten caught maybe?

I like the idea of trying to purge any possible air first though to see if it fixes it. If the moaning comes from the faucet, maybe some seals need to be replaced or valves cleared up.

Good luck!
