Water Main Valve

what would you do if the valve leaks and tightening the packing nut doesn't work?

Water Main Valve


Get your water provider to shut your house water off and replace your shutoff valve. Or you an just freeze the line before the valve and replace it then.

Ghostmaker is right. My gate valve, which is also frozen open, is flared. I did not have enough space to cut off of the flare and put in a new ball valve so I just reused the old one for now until the basement reno.
