Water Leak from Behind Drywall

Hate to pile more on, but while the wall is open, you should get someone to look at that electrical.
Looks like you have some SO cord behind the wall. If it is not SO and is the old black romex without ground, it should never have been extended.
One of the white romex cables was run out the front of the JB and has been pinched by the cover plate.
I can't count the wires but believe the JB is overfilled.

Water Leak from Behind Drywall

I don't mind, thank you for pointing that out. It's old black romex without ground. I will see if the dishwasher cord is long enough to connect, but it's likely I'll have to buy a longer cord for it so that it can be plugged in prior to pushing it into the cabinet area.

I am also going to replace the outlet with a GFI.
