Water Heater Troubles

Hey everyone! I'm having problems with a new water heater that was installed by my realty company. It's a Whirlpool gas water heater. I'm not sure where to find a make or model, but it looks like every other gas water heater I've ever seen. O_O The problem that I'm having is that after they installed this new water heater the hot water to my entire house won't shut off unless I completely turn off the hot water flow at the heater. I tried googling and looking over this forum for similar issues, but I wasn't able to find anything. Does anyone have any idea how I can diagnose this issue so I can either fix it myself, or call in a professional to do it for me?

What do you mean the hot water to your house won't shut off?

Even when all the faucets are screwed all the way into the off position the hot water continues to run. This is also exclusive to the hot water, the cold water is fine.

Did they install an expansion tank when they put the water heater in? Is this happening at every faucet, tub, and shower?

I don't know about the expansion tank, I'd assume not, but I could be wrong. And yeah, it's every single faucet, tub, and shower. Basically we have been having to turn off the hot water at the water heater in order for it to stop the flow.

That sounds weird. You should get them back out and show them the problems. I can only think of a few things:
1. They messed with a pressure regulator (left the fast fill lever up)
2. They knocked loose sediment in the old tank which fouled the valve seals.
3. Overpressurized the expansion tank.

Call the people who installed it. They are the ones that should fix it.
