Water heater control valve only works if I bang it
Hi all, I have a State Water Heater Model PRV 40 NOVT1. It is a power vented gas heater. I have a pilot that stays lit, but the main burner was not firing. After checking the power I git the control valve with my screw driver and the vent turned on and the burner fired up. A lot of clicking noises were made from the control valve and now it doesn't always fire up unless I hit the control valve. I can't find very much information on this model or parts. Can anyone tell me if I have a bad control valve and if so, where I could get one? Or since the water heater is going on 14 years old should I just replace it? Thanks in advance for any help. Jason
