Water Hammer Arrestor, Or Airspace In Extra Copper Pipe


Does a water hammer arrestor serve the same purpose as the extra foot or so of copper pipe found above a valve?

I am not sure If I need both, or just one or the other on a washing machine box hookup.

Water Hammer Arrestor, Or Airspace In Extra Copper Pipe


That 'extra foot of pipe above the valve' is an air chamber it should be adequate----
