Water flow noise

Suddenly there was this loud water noise in the pipes without turning on any faucets. The sound level decreases if you open a faucet in the house. There is no leak anywhere that I could see. The noise went away when I turned off the main water supply valve coming into the basement. Any ideas?

Water flow noise

Check toilet flapper or fluid master/fill valve
