Water coming up through sink in basement

When we pull the plug on our kitchen sink after doing dishes we get some of the water coming up through a sink in the basement. Does this mean the main line is partially clogged or do I need to change the plumbing on the basement sink so it ties in higher on the main drain line?

May not be the main, could be the branch line that serves the sinks. Need to see you layout to be certain.
