Washing machine leaking

My washing machine when the water is left on is leaking through the walls into the garage. Plumber gave estimate of 400 dollars. May have to go through the wall from the garage side saying that the pipe maybe leaking. Just wondering what maybe the problem. Just started few weeks ago so I now have to turn off the water when the washer is not in use.

Washing machine leaking

Sounds like just that, a leaky pipe. The 400 sounds reasonable.
