Washing machine - hot water supply only?

The place set aside for a washing machine has only one water supply, and it's hot. I've seen washing machines using just cold before, but not just a hot supply - will this work?

Thanks!

Most washers use cold for rinse. You could split the one hot so that it enters both cold and hot on the machine. It's a waste of hot water though.

Washing machine - hot water supply only?

I have to admit, my wife does most of the washing, but I'm pretty sure that hot only washing will damage some of your clothes...

You should have a separate cold water supply to your washing machine in addtion to the hot water.
Most laundry detergents are made for cold water use only now anyway, and using all hot water is waste of money. And as you said, it will probably damage a lot of your clothes.
Good Luck!
