Washing machine drain --P-Trap ???

I'm moving my washing machine to the other side of the room. I'm installing a new drain pipe for the washer and I'm wondering if washer drains usually have a P-trap in them? It seems like they should. Thanks.

Yes, a washer drain standpipe has a trap at the bottom of it, and the drain line is properly vented after the trap.
Good luck!

Well, I moved the washer and dryer connections to a different wall today. I put a P-Trap in the washer drain so it's good to go. Man, that's some hard work. I'm exhausted. lol.
