Washer Outlet Box Valves
I hope that someone can explain this to me. Why is it that every washer outlet box I've come across, the valves have straight threads for connecting to the supply system? It's always been my understanding that straight threads are for joining and pipe threads are for joining and sealing. If I plumb with say.. CPVC, I would need to connect a transition adapter to the washer valve. The valve has straight threads and the adapter has pipe threads, so the valve would only screw about 2 threads into the adapter. This would almost certainly leak, right? What am I missing here?
