I have a leak in the on/off/drain for my washing maching. The good thing is that it is one unit, so the leak is going down the drain. The leak developed on the hot water shut off valve between the PVC pipe and the nut. I can't see the leak, but it is a steady mist that is spraying out and is facing the back of the plastic casing. There isn't much room to cut the pipe off and replace it. I can do minor PVC pipe repair, but this seem complicated. Does anyone have an idea how I can repair this?
if it's pvc to pvc, you MAY be able to seal off a pinhole leak with the proper pvc cement in the small can. shut down water, smear the glue around the area, being sure to goop it around the hole area. it'll dissolve some of the pvc and hopefully will seal when it sets. wait 10 minutes or so and turn the water back on and check. this may or may not work, depending on the type of failure. if this is not feasable, please take a pic and post.
