Default Washer drain

Is 28 feet to long for a washer drain? What size pipe for this distance? And how much to pitch the pipe per foot.

Is this 28 ft pipe going to be vented?

What does venting do? I will do what ever is the right way to go about it. The house is a 105 years old so i doubt that any of the sinks are vented.
