Venting Issue

I've got a strange issue in my up stairs bath(s) and the only thing I can think of is how it was vented when they original built the house in '78. I can flush the toilet in my master(the longest plumbing run) and my upstairs guest toilet when drain also. You can hear that toilet refilling through the wall. I can't think of why it would be a toilet problem which is why I think venting is a issue, but I'm planning on remodeling and replace both fixtures eventually, but it is just a weird and annoying issue I thought I might raise here.

thanks for your thoughts,

Darius

It's more likely that your flapper (on the toilet upstairs) is just letting water by into the bowl and periodically the fill valve comes on to refill the tank.

Thanks for the reply, it's not a issue with the toilet leaking continuously or else I would notice it more often, this happens exactly at the same time the master toilet is flush not before or minutes after, they have to be tied together some how.

I could see maybe if the vent stack was clogged that you could potentially pull water from the bowl upstairs with a flush downstairs.
But for the toilet upstairs to refill, you would have to actually flush that toilet and let the water out of the tank.
