It's a full bath in the basement. The drain from the sink appears to go straight down into the concrete slab. The vent is routed upward about 6 feet, then a 90 degree elbow and it goes another 8 feet across the ceiling of the adjacent laundry room, then another 90 degree elbow and it goes another 4 feet in the same plane, then a third 90 degree elbow and it goes upward and disappears into the first floor subfloor.
I was always under the impression that venting should be as straight and vertical a route as possible. Is the setup that I described acceptable or will we need to find a more direct way to vent that sink?
