Hello all - am currently finishing my basement and have a question I was hoping the experts could help me with.
I have a bathroom that is stubbed for a sink, toilet, and shower. The shower has a square drain pan, with another pipe sticking out of the floor (assuming shower/toilet vent?) about 12" behind it. Then there is a toilet drain and then on the other side of that a lav drain.
I also have a vent pipe in the ceiling that is capped off which is directly above the "shower vent" that is sticking out of the floor beside the shower pan.
I know that I need to run the shower vent up to this vent connection in the ceiling, however I'm wondering if I need to also vent the lav drain up there too. Or is the lav somehow vented through the shower vent in which case I just use the lav pipe as a drain and that's it?
I guess I could go on the safe side and just vent both the lav and the shower pipes up to the ceiling vent connection, but just thought I'd check as it would save some time.
