Using thread tapes!

Hello,

A few days ago I discovered that my faucets were leaking and I used thread tapes to seal them. However I am concerned on whether the thread tapes will last or I should consider replacing the faucets?

Thanks

Thread tape is as good as any kind of sealant....

but for the sake of argument, what was leaking? I'm assuming where the faucet hoses attach to the pipe or shut-off valve...??
