using old copper pipe??
 
im no plumber but i can do basic repairs........im also a cheap mofo so my question to you is can you use old copper pipe thats been sitting around for a while??? .................i have some lengths of pipe that were never used but theyre all green and nasty looking inside, should i just toss them and buy new

If used for an outdoor hose bid, go ahead, but I think you know the answer if you were to use it for potable water.

Copper is paying pretty good at the recycle centers. prolly more then you originally paid for it. Cash it in and buy some new pipe

even if its only been sitting around for about a year and a half??? maybe nasty was the wrong word but its deff green lookin.........

Run a shotgun brush down it, thoroughly clean the tarnish for solder connections, and use it. If it not thin wall tubing.

Go for it just disinfect it before using it run some chloride solution through it to kill any germs. If it' s type M it's not worth it however of it's K or L definitely.
