usage gage

I think this is the right forum plumbing.
My son has a sprinkler system and it's possible one of the valves are not always closing all the time. he lives in AZ.
Is there a little site gage that I can install in the inlet line that shows a wheel or little arrow turning that indicates water passing through showing usage and a valve is open and leaking.

If i recall I saw one of these at sometime. and thought neat ! very inexpensive

usage gage

If he's trying to use a globe or gate valve to to shut it off you can bet it's not shutting off at some point.
Replace it with a brass ball valve and it will shut off every time and should not leak.
Just Google "water flow indicator".

Are you talking about one of the zones in the system not shutting off?
Around here most sprinkler system have a seperate meter, you could just check the meter when system is off to tell if youre still using water or not

What I do :

Make sure the sprinkler system timer is not set to run.

Turn off the valve to the sprinkler system.

Wait 5 minutes.

Turn valve to sprinkler system on.

If you can hear or feel water flow through the valve, then the sprinkler system is not holding pressure.
