Updating a Shower

I am in the process of updating a bathroom. The last update that I hope to do is the shower. I have a square corner shower with tempered glass and gold trim. I would like to replace the gold trim with something in the silver family. I looked online for shower kits/enclosures and they all seem very expensive. Based on my research, it looks like the minimum one would cost is about $600. Anyone here have any suggestions on how I can accomplish this update in a less expensive way?

Yes!
Stick with the gold trim.
If anybody asks - tell them you "upgraded" to gold trim!
End of story!

Those types of upgrades are always expensive and getting those products at bargain basement prices just doesn't happen.

Go to Home Depot and buy one of their cheap silver colored doors and use that.

A picture of your current situation would have been helpful in seeing what you are talking about.
