Unsticking Copper Pipe

I am trying to create a pressure balancing loop for a 4 nozzle ceiling shower valve.

Everytime I dry-fit components together they get stuck and I cannot get them apart without damaging the components.

Any trick's for dry-fitting without needing to use wrenches and pliers excessively to pull them apart again?

Thanks.

Deburr the pipe.
If you complete the closed loop you may be creating a suction when you try and pull them apart.

You can put a little flux on it, or measure more accurately, prep pipe for soldering, and be done with it.

Thanks guys ... I had to have the measurements pretty precise because of the nozzle locations. I got a better wire brush, liberally applied flux, through out the old failed attempts, and was able to fit things "one time" without having to pull them apart.

It was a little challenge applying the last piece to the loop, and my mallet helped out significantly.

Great. Glad everything worked out for you.

Sounds like your cutter wheel is dull and forming a ridge on the pipe

Mr. E. Thanks! I have one of those Milwaukee Electric Pipe Cutters and upon very close inspection I can see a very fine ridge on the pipe end. I have never replaced the cutting wheel.

I'm going to try a new cutting wheel because I'm continuing to have problems elsewhere.

You can knock the ridge down with a small file

You can avoid home depot fittings

Dull cutting wheel was definitively the problem. When I tried my spare hand cutter dry fitting no longer was as tremendously difficult.
