Union fitting for gas


Could you tell me if I put TFE paste on the outer most thread. The gas line is 3/4", I mean the large outer most thread which allows you to tighten both pipes together. My thought is no because it is a flare or compression fitting.

Union fitting for gas


It is not necessary but could aid in loosening it in the future if needed. I got in the habit of using Never-seez on steel pipe unions for just this reason.
