Two sump pumps, one drain?
I currently have a sump pump in my basement that is routed through the foundation to a dry well with PVC pipe. When I bought the house, there was a lot of junk and debris in the basement, and I'm just now getting it all thrown out. In the process, I found a second sump pit (without a pump) in another corner. The PVC for the sump pump runs almost directly over this second pit. It appears that water is coming up through this pit, crossing the basement and running into the pit with a pump. Is there a way to put in a second pump and connect it to the drain the first pump is using? I'm assuming there will have to be some sort of one way valve so that the water from pump 2 isn't pumped towards pump 1.
