Turning gas back on

When you say you loosened the nut and go the gas stove lit but the meter was leaking: What nut are you talking about?

Yeah a photo would help.

Turning gas back on

Sounds to me like they just pulled the lock and never turned the valve on. The whench marks on the union nuts may have already been there or were just made if they pulled a shut-off disk out of the connection point

Even though the bill still wasn't due for 2 more days the lady actually told us, " we'll its up to the service guy to lock it early if he wants to if hes already n the area"!!! Wtf is that?!?! I'm not past due but they lock it early, then I'm home when it gets unlocked," a week after they locked it and it was paid," and they don't even check to c! But now it's Friday at 230 And still haven't been by to look at it yet! I can take a picture of it but it's just a standard meter with and inlet on one side of the top with the lever on the bottom and an outlet to the house on the other side, but yes I'm sure it's unlocked and open and the top of the meter where top inlet and outlet pipes fasten to the meter where adjusted. Is that what u mess with when the people aren't home? My wife was reading something that said u turn those a qtr turn, which I did and started getting gas through the line but the soap on the thread started bubbling so I closed it back, other than that it doesn't get ne thing flowing n the lines at all! I will send the pic if I need to just need to get to my computer can't seem to do it from my phone
Shut off before the bill was even due, you say? I've heard that song many times, and it's always false. If I get sent to lock someone off, they're already more 60 days past due on the first bill, 30 days past due on their second bill and about to miss their third bill. If you really, truly aren't yet delinquent, I'd call the utility commission, the news, the governor and anyone else that'll listen. But, like I said, I've heard that song before.

Turning gas back on

I have no reason to lie about it...I looks sat the bill from the month before" that was paid", and it was due on the 31st of july and they shut the gas off on the 28th of August! And when I called the lady said yea it's up to the technition if they are in the area and have busy schedules they can decide to cut if off early! She said sometimes if u switch from email to paper it's possible that the bill never got sent out cause it got mixed up thinking it was sent one way or the other! I pay all my bills on time just never got a bill to pay! I was lookin for the commissions number on line but couldn't find it ne where. I looked up florida utility commission, utility commission of Florida and some other things but nothing. Do you have the utility commission number from your state? I figured I could call them and maybe they would have the number.. The nut I'm talking about is where the gas lines tighten to the top of the meter, theirs an in line coming from the ground and an out going into the home. When I loosened the out going to the home my wife got gas to the stove and was able to light it but it was leaking so I had to tighten it back.. It seemed to me that it has some type of shut off or somethig at the nut that they engaged when they shut it off. The reason I know it was messed with is because I recently sprayed all the metal parts outside with rustolium so it was recently painted and the marks weren't their before... Ive taken the picture already so I will upload it when I get to the house so you see where I'm talking About... Thanks again for all the help

Here's a link to Florida's Utility Commission's website. There's even a section to submit a claim electronically. Took me 1.5 seconds to Google.

http://www.psc.state.fl.us/

I doubt they did anything other than just lock off the meter if the facts are as you say they are. There are other ways to stop the flow of gas that we use if someone has tampered with the lock, or just cut it off. I can't say what that is, but if you keep "plugging" away at it, you may figure it out.

so you sprayed it with rustoleum to see what they do to lock it so you can more easily unlock it?

if you give us your address, I'm sure someone would be happy to inquire of your gas company for you.

Well I've never cut off ne lock or tampered with ne thing! Never even had my service cut off before! Which is another thing that doesn't make sence to me cause I sware that y I gave a damn deposit so it's not cut off in situations like these....I'm sure u r great at ur job and do things how their supposed to be done which is y you would b on a site like this helping people out, but that doesn't mean people in ur same profession can't be morons or just a-holes when a customer calls pissed off cause they did something incorrectly. So they just do whatever they want cause they know theirs no other gas company they can switch to.... But I did actually figure out what the issue was so thanks again for the help and for the website.... And yes you figured me out! I knew I wasn't going to recieve a bill this month and my service would be disconnected so I went out and sprayed every piece if metal around the outside of my home with rustolium so I can c how the gas man would turn the shut off valve and put a lock on the meter! and I figured he would put a cap inside the gas line in addition to the lock so I sprayed the bolts to see which one it was under, which is y I waited till now almost 2 weeks after I payed my bill to take it off!! Cause I knew they wouldn't come out when they said they would to turn it back on! You got me! Man nothing gets passed you does it?!?! Serously?? Wtf

jut sounds strange to me that the service company is so hard to deal with that you have to look for internet help. Service does not cost extra for me and they show up whether its the weekend/ holiday or bad weather.

Seems that there was a cap in the line, as well as the lock. Talk about playing hardball.

Turning gas back on

Well I guess I need to call ur service company next time then! Cause the bill was paid a week and a half ago"the same day it was cut off" and they still didn't call me today or come bye to get it fixed! Not That I needed them to, but as far as they know we're still without gas.... Their was a cap in the line that the tech. Never removed the first time they came out to take the lock off and never checked to make sure everything was working. For all they know my stove could've been on filling the house with gas! Or they knew the cap was still their and they were being a-holes.. I'm guessing the ladder cause we weren't every happy when they cut it off early to begin with, without ever having ne issues before!
