Is there anyway for a Do-It-Yourselfer to re-polish a tub? Do they sale anything that actually works and works good? The professionals here charge $400 and I really don't want to pay that much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Trying to refinish a tub is like repainting your car at home. It will look "better" but will not look or perform like the original finish. Look at the repair kits at Home Centers and note the warnings and care that needs to be taken after you finish. Since people don't seem to follow directions, the manufacturers of these products have to make them safe to use. When this is done, the quality is affected.
If you have never made a mistake, you haven't done much.
