So I have determined my tub needs a degree of shimming in a few dimensions. Where though, do I shim? It sits on a styrofoam cube of sorts, and that is the only direct contact with the ground besides the apron; otherwise it rests on the ledger attached to the wall.
I also need help determining how far from the studs this should be. I know i have to account for backerboard, and tile, but I'm not sure how much on either side. And what about the wall side, should that be flush? I'm finding it difficult to feel comfortable with precisely placing the tub "where it needs to be" in order to re-pipe my faucet/controls and showerstem/head; all while being able to put up backerboard and tile without difficulty.
