tub drain maximum distance

What is the maximum distance the bathroom tube drain can be from the 4" main sewer stack?
If a 2" drain line is used?
If a 1-1/2" drain line is used?

tub drain maximum distance

Thanks for settling a difference of opinion.
A friend believed that the drain line could not be any longer then 5 feet.
I tried to tell him it would be fine as long as the 1/4" was maintained.

He wants to locate the whirlpool in a different location. About 2 feet away from the current one.

Now if your talking distance to vent then there is a difference. Is this might be what he was asking?
