Tub Diverter & Pex Connection

Ok so i have completed my plumbing for my bathroom shower which included various PEX/Sharkbite applications. I have about 3" of PEX coming out of the shower wall for the tub spout. I have installed a Moen Chateau shower faucet. The issue is when i slide the diverter onto the pex ... it isnt secured. The diverter doesnt have a set screw, and caulk alone does not secure it enough. Is there an adapter for the PEX that allows the twist on of the divereter onto the pex ?

I will include pics if necessary...
Thanks !

Tub Diverter & Pex Connection

if it were me, i'd take that pex out and use copper for the tub spout. i've never had any luck using pex in that application

Tub Diverter & Pex Connection

As a plumber, there is not a realistic way to correct this problem without correcting the pipe type, spout stub out. pex has a copper stub out that could be used but it will require a copper coupling to be installed w/ a copper 90. the pex pipe even w/ a stiffner will not work, or for long as it is. gotta open that back wall up and sweat in hard pipe.
