Trench for sump pump in crawl

I have groundwater accumulating in my crawlspace. I have to do the nasty job of trenching out my crawl space along the wall so I can lay pipe and gravel that will lead to a sump pump. How deep do I make this trench and how close to the foundation wall do I make it? Thank you in advance to all who help.

How deep is a (math) function of how close.
Right up to it close is usually better/best.

Not more than a foot deep should be enough.
Get a tub for the sump pump note how far below the lip the inlet ports are.
And no, you don't pitch the perf drain pipe.

Also, my electric panel is full. I could tap into the electrical going for my washing machine or the circuit that feeds my garbage disposal/ dishwasher. Should that be okay?

All your moving is water. Water will seek its own level and it will naturally go to the lowest point your sump pit.

Washing machine, dishwasher, and garbage disposal are usually dedicated to those appliances and cannot be shared. It really depends on your local code though.
