toilet won't fill

I have the most damning of toilets. I have replaced guts 3 times with fluidmaster and they work for a while and stop filling and flushing. So here it's happening again. 3 Toilets are 15 yrs old but not much use since kids left. Any help would be appreciated.

Not much info to go on. fill valves have nothing to do with the flushing action of a toilet accept for making sure the tank is full. it could be a mineral buildup in the passeges in the toilet bowl. Are you adjusting them properly for fill height? How is the hardness in your water?

Pipes are pvc, I think since the home is 15 yrs old. I'm on town water which is softer than than the well water I had. If it is minerals, how do I get rid of mineral buildup. There are mineral stains in the toilets. Thank you so much.

fluidmasters have a small black rubber disc in the top. after a few years, they can become hard and brittle, and either work very slowly or not at all. Shut the water off, take the small plastic top cover off of the fluidmaster, turn the arm assembly 1/4 turn to the left, lift it off, and take the disc out of the top of the fluidmaster, flush the crud out by holding a cup over top of the fluidmaster and turning the water on for a few seconds while the disc is out. then turn water back off, install the new disc in place and re-assemble. The discs are only a buck or two, and you don't even need tools to do this. That would be the first thing i would try.
