Toilet Water Shut Off Valve
My tenant is having a problem with a toilet. When I went to turn the water off I found a shut off valve that I have never seen before. The valve is plastic and has a knob but it doesn't matter which way you turn the knob it does not stop the flow of water. Pushing or pulling on the knob does not work either. Can you help me out with what kind of shut off valve it is and perhaps let me know how it operates.
Is it a cheap thing with a water line built in?
I've run into those from the 1980s---I never could get one to work. I just change them out---
Good luck removing the old one--I could not find a way to release the push on fitting so I either cut the pipe if it's long enough or split the plastic collar.
