I'm installing a bathroom in the unfinished upstairs of my cape and need help with proper vent for the upstairs plumbing. I've attached a sketch of how I plan on venting but want clarification to make sure this will work. My main concern is having the vent come in behind the toilet.
What code is being used for plumbing in your area?
Under the IPC the vent for the toilet is illegal it is flat and not washed out.
The fitting to the lav sink must be a y type fitting off the 3 inch
You cannot have a bath below that is using that pipe as a vent if that be the case.
So what you need to do under the IPC is just turn up for the toilet use a y fitting off your 3 inch and pick up your lav and vent that lav as drawn. Make sure you increase the vent to 3 inch out the roof. 12" below and 12" above roof. As long as your not using pipe from 3 inch vent from a first floor fixture. And pull all permits as required. Unless you like inspectors have you rip drywall out later.
