Toilet seat slipping and coming loose.

Does anyone have a solution for keeping a plastic (or fiberglass I'm not sure) toilet seat from coming loose and slipping to either side of the bowl when you sit down? I have tightened and tightened and in a week or two it's loose again. I even tried rubber washers thinking it might give it some grip. The holes in the ceramic where the nylon bolts go through are just too big, too smooth and allow for too much play. I have tried the brass bolts as well and the same thing happens. The thing that really gets me is, it's the original seat that came with the toilet. It should be made to install and stay in place. Any help or tips are appreciated.

Thank you.

Toilet seat slipping and coming loose.

I had the problem with the plastic nuts and bolts on my Toto seat as well. After multiple hand tightenings that didn't hold, I took to it with a wrench and tightened it ever so slightly so that it didn't strip. It has held for at least four months now.
