toilet problems...

A friend of mine needs your assistance. He lives on the top/second floor of his condo and his toilet wont flush right. He says the toilet spins the water and doesnt do anything. He has tried plunging, 3' auger, draino gel, muriatic acid, and pressurized water device. He said while trying those the toiliet would occasionally flush right but then he would try again and back to spinning water. Any clues? Thanks:thumbsup:

There may be a few reasons.... but if the toilet is the only problem in all the plumbing devices... all other devices like sink/bath tub...etc. works very well... then I would think the problem will be the toilet seat or its installation ... some toilet seat have too little exhaused hole causling clogging easily or bad design or damage internal surface...etc..... may need to change for a better quality toilet... why I said that... happened to me few months ago... and now everything works so well after I changed the toilet...

So when the water just spins, does it overflow? Or does the water level rise, then drain, but not flow out fast enough?

I'm no pro plumber, but my understanding is that toilets work based on siphon action, that means the escaping water creates a vacuum/suction to pull the water/waste through quickly. If it's flowing very slowly, then something is slowing the suction effect. Clogged pipe or improper venting may cause this and this problem may not be noticed in the other fixture drain lines.

I was guessing the vent, too.
