Toilet Problem

I need to flush my toilet about 6 times before the water comes down from the cistern. Sometimes it flushes first time but most of the time it takes ages.

I've checked the mechanism and it all seems attached could it be a blockage in my pipes or something?

Cheers

What supplies the water to your cistern, Rain? sounds like a blockage. Turn the water off, disconnect the supply line from the fill valve and using a bucket open the valve and see what kind of flow you have. If the flow is good the fill valve is stopped up.
