Toilet pipe rises above new tile floor

I recently removed the old flooring(about 1 inch), down to the sub floor and then installed hardie backer and tile. Now the pipe sticks slightly abouve the tile, which causes the toilet to rock slightly and not seal. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

What type of flange/pipe is it? What material? PVC?

What is down below? Basement? Concrete?

You are probably not going to meet the proper deflection rates for tile with only the sub floor and some hardi as the hardi does not add any support at all. Keep an eye on your tiles for cracking or grout cracking..... You may just be pulling them back up in the near furure to add that extra sub flooring back down and then you toilet drain will be to short.
