toilet pipe

hello, i am installing my toilet and the ground pipe is 3 7/8 inch and all i can find is 3 or 4 inch flange's. from what i hear the flange is suppose to go inside the pipe so the 4 inch is too big and the 3 is too small. anybody come across this before?

A 4-inch flange should work just fine.

Seems to be an odd size- can you upload a picture? What is the pipe made of-plastic, cast iron, lead, copper?

You will be priming and gluing this---outside flanges are always the first choice

There are several 'plastics' used for pipe--all use a special glue (solvent) describe the pipe,please---

you should be able to glue a 3" hub closet flange into the 4" pipe..:yes:ben sr

Maybe the pipe is not DWV?

I didn't say I was nuts- I was questioning you're sanity because I read too much into the thread :wink:
Do you use 4x3 90's or pipe the whole line in 4"

4" whole line because after tile we cut off 4" flush to tile glue and hammer drill 3"hub flange into 4"

It is a 4" abs riser in concrete. Is there a flange gasket that goes inside or do I have to bust concrete to get on outside gasket?
