I plan on installing a new toilet, i've already removed the old toilet, and the flange was so old that most of it broke off. I haven't taken a 2nd look at it, but it seemed that the flange and the big pipe that goes down is one whole piece which would mean I would have to replace the whole thing (I don't think i can do that myself) because half of the flange is still there along with the broken pieces. Is this a figment of my imagination or is this a possibility.
No figment. I have added a link at the bottom of this post. Just click on it. When it comes up, you will see 4 flange repair kits. The one on the right hand side is called a Super Flange. You place it over the broken flange and screw it to the floor using the 6 holes provided. They are available at Lowes and HD. Cost around $15. good luck.
