Toilet flange extension question

I'm putting in a porcelain floor in our powder room and assume I'll have to use a toilet flange extension/spacer to raise the toilet drain flange surface level to the new floor height. When you add these spacers, should silicone sealant be applied between the spacer ring and the existing flange? If not, is anything needed or will the wax ring keep things leak free?

Bob

Silicone caulk and screw it to the subfloor.

If the extender ring does not have a seal on it (some do, some don't) use the silicone and make sure you screw it down through to the subfloor using the holes provided.

Thank you both!
