Toilet finally bit the big one.

I've known the older ineffiecent toilet in my bath was running on borrow time. Easter morning I walked into my basement and saw water pouring onto the floor. The old toilet finally gave out on me. I was hoping it would last until I decided to remodel my bath. After pulling it and I found soaked and rtten subfloor. Working through easter and today I cut out the old flooring, replaced the old cast iron plumbing and put down a new subfloor. Finally got rid of the 14" toilet :(

Anyway, I'm looking for a replacement toilet. Looking for an enlongated bowl with a shallow overall depth. 2 piece gravity flush no more than 30 inches depth. Any recommendations. My brother in law swears by Toto but I can't afford a $600 toilet. I'd like to find something under $250.

Anyone own an American Standard Cadet 3? Anything will be better than our old toilet, but I'd like decent flushing power in a realtively compact size.

Kohler Wellworth at big box. Not sure of dimensions, but they are for standard connections.

Buy a plunger - many homeowners find that when they replace their 'inefficient' or 'high-flow' toilets with a newer model they end up with clogging problems, unless they also replace their older-wider diameter waste pipes.

Good luck, I hate the unwelcome surprise in the morning.

No way I'm keeping the old toilet. It didn't even have a glazed drain.

I'll have a look at the wellworth. And maybe some Jacuzzi styles.
