i had a leak from the toilet pipe. a friend tightened the joint to avoid flooding but he mentioned not to use the restroom because it might flood. what can i do? do i loosen the fitting joint? call a plumber? is there even still a problem with the toilet if it's no longer leaking?

It sounds as if your friend turned off the valve that controls the water.
If you turn on the the valve and water floods out, you will definitely require the services of a plumber!
