Toilet doesnt flush very strong

I have a toilet that when flushed I have to hold the handle down for about 10 seconds to get it to flush with any power. How can I adjust this so it flushes nicely with just one press of the handle?

You probably need a new flapper. It's a very difficult job

Im guessing by the icon, thats sarcasm? Lol.

The flapper is the black rubber thing that seals it right? What should I look for in one or are they all the same? Why would that cause it to flush poorly?

Before replacing the flapper, check the water level in the tank. It should be about 1/2" below the top of the overflow tube. Flush and see if the flapper stays up long enough that almost all the water leaves the tank. If not, adjust the chain so that the flapper "just" seals by removing most of the slack. Try flushing again. Just some things to check.

if you still have troubles after all of that, we use 'sharky' flappers with the little adjustable float on them. That usually helps the flapper float longer allowing more water to leave the tank.
